FAQ
Auto Detailing Warranty Questions
All standard Waypoint services include the Waypoint Workmanship Promise - a seven-day reporting window for confirmed workmanship concerns. Headlight Restoration includes a separate one-year limited warranty. Ceramic coatings include both Waypoint application workmanship coverage and a product-manufacturer warranty, the terms of which depend on the specific product installed. Mold Remediation includes a separate written guarantee. Full terms are provided in writing at service completion.
The Waypoint Workmanship Promise covers confirmed workmanship concerns reported within seven calendar days of service completion. Covered concerns include an included area unintentionally missed, residue caused by the completed work, a treated stain that wicks back shortly after drying, and an included service step not completed. When a covered concern is confirmed, Waypoint will reperform the affected portion of the original service at no additional labor charge or provide another written resolution.
The standard reporting period for the Waypoint Workmanship Promise is seven calendar days from the date of service completion. Headlight Restoration concerns should be reported within the one-year warranty period. Mold Remediation concerns should be reported promptly per the written guarantee terms. Claims submitted outside the applicable period may not be covered.
Report the concern within seven days, provide your invoice or appointment number, describe the concern, and include current photographs. Waypoint will review the approved scope, before and after documentation, and current condition. If a confirmed included area was unintentionally missed, Waypoint will complete that portion of the service.
No. Stain removal is not guaranteed. Some stains have permanently altered the material and cannot be removed through cleaning alone. Waypoint discloses likely-permanent stains before completing the service. The Workmanship Promise covers stain wicking that occurs shortly after drying, not the failure to remove a permanent stain.
No. Complete or permanent odor elimination is not guaranteed. Odor treatment reduces or removes odor from accessible sources. Results depend on the odor type, how long it has been present, how deeply it has penetrated the material, and whether the source is accessible. A seven-day follow-up assessment is available if the concern persists.
The one-year limited warranty covers confirmed workmanship concerns and premature exterior return of haze confirmed as failure of the protective finishing system under normal use. It does not cover physical damage after service, cracked lenses, internal condensation, or abrasive car-wash damage. Final terms are provided in writing at service completion.
Both. Waypoint covers the application workmanship for seven days after installation. The coating manufacturer provides a separate warranty covering product performance under normal use and confirmed maintenance. The manufacturer warranty terms, duration, maintenance requirements, and remedies depend on the specific coating product installed. Terms are provided in writing at service completion.
Maintenance requirements depend on the specific coating product installed. They typically include proper washing techniques, avoidance of abrasive products, and periodic inspections or maintenance services. Written aftercare instructions and manufacturer terms are provided at service completion. Failure to follow required maintenance may affect coverage.
No. Paint correction improves the current visible condition of the paint. It does not make the paint permanently resistant to future swirls, scratches, rock chips, or environmental damage. The Workmanship Promise covers confirmed incomplete correction within the approved scope - not future paint condition.
No. Mold Remediation does not guarantee no future recurrence. Mold can return if the underlying moisture source is not corrected, if new moisture is introduced, or if contamination in inaccessible areas was not fully addressed. The written guarantee covers return of active mold in the treated area within the stated period - not future recurrence under new conditions.
No. Engine Bay Detailing is a visual presentation service. It does not include any warranty for mechanical condition, electrical components, fluid leaks, or component performance. Any mechanical concerns noted during cleaning are pointed out at the final walkthrough - they are not repaired or warranted.
No. If another provider treats, polishes, cleans, or otherwise alters the affected area before Waypoint can inspect it, the workmanship concern can no longer be confirmed. Coverage requires that Waypoint be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect the original condition of the concern.
Refunds are not an automatic remedy. The Waypoint Workmanship Promise offers to reperform the affected portion of the service or provide another written resolution. Specific remedy options are determined after Waypoint reviews the concern and documentation.
Contact Waypoint within the applicable reporting period. Provide your name, invoice or appointment number, vehicle information, date of service, a description of the concern, and photographs or video. Email hello@waypointdetail.com or call (509) 355-7795. Do not alter or treat the affected area before Waypoint inspects.
Complete written warranty and workmanship terms are provided in your service documentation at completion. The terms on this page are a summary. If you have not received your service documentation, contact Waypoint directly.
