Your detail

Here’s what we’re taking care of.

Your confirmation lists the services you booked. We’ll review them with you before we get started.

From a routine refresh to more intensive work, the services in your booking determine what we take care of. Not sure whether you selected the right service? Reach out before your appointment.

Talk with Waypoint

Your arrival window is when your technician is expected. Actual service duration depends on the vehicle, condition, add-ons and work required.

Great results start with
realistic expectations.

Detailing can dramatically improve a vehicle, but dirt and damage are two different things. We’ll work toward the best safe result without damaging the material underneath.

Usually responds
very well

The everyday mess that makes your vehicle feel less like yours.

  • Loose dirt, dust and crumbs
  • Fingerprints and surface buildup
  • Many fresh spills
  • Normal interior grime and road grime

Results
can vary

Material, age and previous cleaning attempts all make a difference.

  • Older stains and coffee spills
  • Deeply embedded pet hair
  • Dye transfer and old odors
  • Water spots and adhesive residue

Cleaning cannot reverse
physical damage

We can clean damaged material, but cannot rebuild what has worn away.

  • Scratched plastic or torn upholstery
  • Cracked leather and worn surfaces
  • Burned, faded or bleached material
  • Deep paint scratches and rock chips

A noticeable difference.
An honest approach.

Our goal is not to hide problems temporarily. It’s to properly clean, improve and protect your vehicle using methods appropriate for the material.

We’d rather leave a permanent defect visible than damage the material chasing an unrealistic result.

Preparing your vehicle

A few things before we arrive.

A little preparation helps us spend more time on what matters: your vehicle.

Your quick checklist0 of 4 ready

Water & power

Our mobile setup is designed to bring the detailing process to you. If your specific service or location requires access to water, power or anything else, we’ll let you know before the appointment.

Waypoint’s mobile detailing vanWe bring the detail to you.

Where will we work?

We need a safe, legal and reasonably accessible place to work around your vehicle and our equipment.

  • A driveway or private parking area
  • Appropriate workplace parking
  • A garage with enough room and ventilation
  • Another approved, safely accessible space

Tight parking, roadside traffic or locations that prohibit mobile service may not be suitable. Unsure about your space? Let’s check before we arrive.

What if the weather
doesn’t cooperate?

Mobile detailing means weather is part of the equation. We keep an eye on conditions and only complete work when we can do so safely and achieve the proper result.

Light weather doesn’t automatically mean your appointment needs to move.

If conditions would prevent us from safely or properly completing your service, Waypoint will contact you about the next step.

A few important
result expectations.

Good detailing includes honest conversations. Here’s what’s helpful to know before we start.

The best safe result.
Always our goal.
Stains, spills & fabric

What caused a stain, how long it’s been there, heat exposure, material type and previous cleaning attempts all affect the outcome. Permanent discoloration may remain even after cleaning.

If extraction is part of your service, some fabric may remain slightly damp and need additional drying time.

Embedded pet hair

Hair type, carpet fibers and upholstery affect removal. Fine hair can work deeply into seams or areas that cannot be safely disassembled. Major improvement is possible, but complete removal is not always achievable.

Scratched plastics, worn leather & existing damage

Cleaning does not reverse scratches, tears, burns, cracking, fading, worn steering wheels or missing carpet fibers. Your technician may note existing wear during the walkaround. A cleaner surface can also make existing damage easier to see.

Paint defects are not the same as dirt

An exterior detail does not automatically remove scratches, swirl marks, rock chips, oxidation, etching or clear-coat failure. Some defects may improve through separate paint correction, depending on defect depth and available clear coat.

If we find something unsafe

If our technician finds a condition that may be unsafe to work around, we’ll stop and talk with you before proceeding. This can include unknown hazardous substances, sharps, unsafe biological contamination or work outside the booked service.

Our workmanship promise

The Waypoint Promise

We care about the quality of the work we leave behind. If you have a concern after your detail, reach out to Waypoint so we can review it with you and determine the appropriate next step under our workmanship promise.

We’re here to help

A little more peace of mind.

Answers to the questions we hear most often.

Do I need to clean my car before you arrive?

No. Remove valuables and loose personal belongings, but don’t worry about vacuuming or wiping things down first. That’s what we’re here for.

Do I need to be home during the entire detail?

Not necessarily. Once we have access to the vehicle and have completed the initial walkaround or necessary communication, you can generally get back to your day. Just make sure we can reach you if a question comes up.

How long will my detail take?

Actual service duration depends on the service, vehicle, condition, add-ons and work required. Your arrival window tells you when to expect your technician, not how long the work will take.

Can you get every stain out?

Not every stain can be completely removed. Results depend on the material, what caused the stain, how long it has been there, previous cleaning attempts and whether the material itself has permanently changed. We’ll always work toward the best safe result.

Can you remove all pet hair?

Pet hair removal can make a dramatic difference, but results vary based on the type of hair and the carpet or upholstery. Some fine hair can become deeply embedded in fibers and seams.

What if it rains?

Light weather does not automatically cancel a mobile detail. We monitor conditions and will contact you if the weather would prevent us from safely or properly completing your service.

Do you need water or power?

Our mobile setup is designed to bring the detailing process to you. Requirements can vary by service and location. If we need access to water, electricity or anything else for your appointment, we’ll let you know.

What if my vehicle is worse than I described?

Your technician will evaluate the vehicle when they arrive. If the condition is substantially different from what was booked or requires work outside the selected service, we’ll discuss it with you before making any significant changes.

Will detailing fix scratches or damaged materials?

Cleaning removes contamination. It does not rebuild material that is scratched, torn, burned, faded, cracked or permanently discolored. Some exterior defects may be improved through paint correction when appropriate.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Waypoint Auto Detailing operates as a professional detailing business and carries appropriate business insurance.
